Course Description:

An investigation of the process of rendering literature aloud, with attention to problems of impersonation, consideration of style, and application of specific vocal techniques.

Required Texts:

* Todd V. Lewis. Communicating Literature: An Introduction to Oral Interpretation. Kendall/Hunt Publishing. Fifth Edition. ISBN 978-0-7575-9809-8
* Black 3-ring mini-binder with 5” x 7” non-glare sheet protectors. Oral Interpreters utilize the black binder to hold scripts during presentations. The binder should be in addition to another holder used to contain numerous handouts.
* Supplemental texts, scripts, prose or poetry selections may be provided by instructor or student as needed.
* Internet w/email access.
